My experience with Aura was absolutely incredible! We got these drawings made for a corporate gift, and the likeness Aura was able to draw was amazing! They also allowed us to change and make edits to the drawing every step of the way. When it came time to print the drawings, Aura provided incredibly precise prints that we were able to blow up to 16'x20'. Every custom comic book cover we create is professionally hand-drawn by an experienced comic artist.

We don't use AI-generated artwork, automated illustration tools or generic character templates.

Instead, we work from your photographs and the information you share with us to create detailed, original artwork.

We pay particular attention to likenesses. That means capturing people's faces, hairstyles, expressions and distinctive features, as well as pets, locations and personal items that matter to you.

But creating a great comic cover involves much more than accurately drawing someone.

We think about the composition, character design, poses, costumes, colours, background, comic book title and overall atmosphere. Every element needs to work together to create a striking finished illustration.

We don't simply trace your photographs or reproduce the information you give us. We take your ideas and develop them into something imaginative, engaging and personal.

Will the People and Pets Actually Look Like Themselves?

Absolutely! Creating recognisable likenesses is one of the most important parts of our work.

We don't just draw generic comic book characters and add someone's name. We carefully recreate the people and pets who are going to star in your cover, so their friends and family can immediately recognise them.

We'll ask you to send us photographs of everyone involved. These help our artists study facial features, hairstyles, expressions, body shapes and all the little details that make someone look like themselves.

And yes, this includes pets! Whether it's your dog, cat or another much-loved animal, we take just as much care capturing their distinctive markings, colouring, expressions and personality.

You don't need to provide a photograph of someone in the exact pose or costume you want them drawn in. We can use several reference photographs to understand their appearance and then illustrate them in an entirely new scene.

Perhaps your husband is flying through the sky as a superhero, your daughter is a fantasy warrior, or your dog is sitting proudly beside them as their faithful sidekick. Even though the setting is imaginary, the characters should still be unmistakably them.

We can also recreate meaningful places, vehicles, clothing, accessories and other personal details.

When the artwork is finished, you'll have the opportunity to review it and request adjustments to likenesses, colours and text.

The price of your custom comic book cover depends primarily on the number of characters and the size of the finished artwork.

Most customers choose one or two characters, and our smallest standard size is 8 × 10 inches.

However, we can create much larger and more elaborate covers.

We've worked on illustrations featuring numerous characters, including large pieces around 20 × 30 inches. You won't find every possible size and character combination listed on our website because we focus on the most popular options.

How do I get started? What do you need from me?

Once you've placed your order, we'll email you to learn more about your ideas. We'll ask about the people or pets appearing on your custom comic book cover, the characters you'd like them to become, the background and the comic book title.

You can choose superheroes, villains, fantasy characters, anime, movie characters or something completely original. We can also invent characters based on someone's career, hobbies, skills or personality.

We'll request reference photographs so our artists can create recognisable likenesses of everyone involved, including pets.

Don't worry if you're stuck for ideas! I'll personally help you brainstorm your concept and develop the characters. Creative direction is included in the price, and it's a really fun process.

Can you turn someone into their favourite superhero, TV or movie character?

Absolutely! We can create personalised comic covers inspired by famous characters from comics, television, films, cartoons and video games.

We work from photographs you provide to accurately capture the likenesses of people, pets, places and personal items.

Once the artwork is complete, we'll send it to you for feedback. You can request adjustments to likenesses, colours and text to make sure everything looks right.

How many photographs do I need to provide?

This varies depending on your comic cover.

We'll request photographs of everyone appearing in the artwork, including any pets. We may also ask for reference images of important places, vehicles, clothing or personal objects.

You don't need professional photographs or pictures of everyone in the exact pose you want illustrated.

Our artists can use several photographs to understand someone's appearance and then draw them in a completely new scene.

We take particular care with likenesses so your friends and family can recognise everyone, even when they're transformed into superheroes or fantasy characters.

Can I request edits when the artwork is complete?

Yes, within the agreed concept.

Once we send you the completed artwork, you can request changes to likenesses, colours and text at no additional charge. We'll continue making those adjustments until you're happy.

However, substantial changes to the original concept, such as replacing a character, redesigning the entire scene or requesting a completely different cover, may incur an additional fee.

We'll always discuss any extra charges with you first.

How long does a custom comic book cover take to create?

Most custom comic book covers are completed within 2–5 days, depending on the complexity of the artwork and our current workload.

Everything is professionally hand-drawn from scratch, so more elaborate covers may take longer.

If you have an important deadline or need your artwork urgently, please contact us before ordering.

We'll let you know whether we can meet your deadline. A rush fee may apply.

What's the best way to print and display my custom comic book cover?

We recommend printing your custom comic book cover on high-quality paper and framing it, just like a piece of comic book artwork.

A professional printer can produce beautiful results, with sharp details and vibrant colours that really bring the illustration to life.

We don't recommend canvas printing, as the textured surface can reduce the sharpness of fine lines, text and smaller details that are so important in comic book artwork.

Once your artwork is complete, we'll email you a high-resolution digital file and can help you find a suitable printer.

What if I don't like my custom comic book cover?

We take great care to understand your ideas before any artwork begins. No customer has ever left with a piece of comic art they didn't love. We're very proud of that.
