We work from your photos to capture real likeness — faces, hair, expressions, body language, even personal items that matter to you. You’ll see a draft before we complete the comic artwork and even when completed you can still make edits. The comic art is finished when you say so, edits are unlimited. How Many Panels Do You Need?

Firstly let's explain what a panel is. One panel = one picture. So one moment, one interaction. Our custom comic books start at twelve pages with eleven panels. We used to make our shortest comics 8 pages, but we added in some extra pages so when the comic is printed it feels more substantial. 

The format goes like this:

• Page 1 - front cover

• Page 2 - photo page

• Page 3 - title page with message to recipient

• Page 4 - 10 - comic story pages. This is where the eleven panels will be drawn

• Page 11 - photo page

• Page 12 - back cover with a photo

The photo pages include some of your favorite photos of the recipient. It’s a nice personal touch, which we have found is well liked. For a couple’s love story, eleven panels is just fine. They might be the first meeting, first “I love you”, moving in together, first vacation, proposal, wedding, honeymoon, buying a dream home, kids and the present day. If you want more events included, or a more detailed story, then you might opt for more panels. We have a few options on the website, but they are just the popular choices, we can make your custom comic book as long as you like. 

If you opt for a fictional story, perhaps turning you and your partners into superheroes, then I would say fourteen panels is the minimum, as fictional stories require more explaining. We need to set the scene, introduce the characters, introduce the problem, every good story has a problem, build the story, and then end with a great finale. 

However long or short your custom comic book, the final result will be incredible. We always strive to go above and beyond what’s expected, which is why we only have five star reviews. We don’t just take your story and tell it the way you told us, we creatively engineer it to be an engaging masterpiece of comic artwork. On par with the likes of DC and Marvel. 

Lastly, we don’t expect you to know how many pages and comic panels you need, most orders start with a conversation. How Much Will it Cost?

The price is determined on the number of pages and comic panels. So the shortest comic book we create is 12 pages with eleven panels. The longest custom comic book we have ever created was about 50 panels long and 150 panels. You won’t see this size offered on our website, we just show the more popular comic lengths. Once a comic book starts to get to 20 pages we print it as a hardback comic book instead. 

If your budget is smaller, then you should check out our custom comic strips. You can have more panels for your money because there is less space for us to fill with drawings, so they are faster to complete. 

So whether your budget is relatively small or very big, we can accommodate you. Whether you opt for a comic book or a comic strip, they are both drawn to the same high level of detail, both are drawn by a professional. Both will make your loved ones day.

How the Process Works

So firstly, as I have said before, most jobs start with a conversation. This is where you understand what your custom comic book  might look like and the cost. You will then purchase the custom comic strip and we will email you asking for more information. We will ask questions and request photos, the princess is pretty thorough. 

Once we have everything I will personally write and design your story. Then one of the artists on my team will draw it. First a rough draft, which I will send to you for your feedback. You can request ANY changes you like at this stage. We will apply the edits and complete the artwork. 

Once completed smaller edits such as colours, text and likeness to characters, places and pets are done at NO extra charge. But say you decide to change a panel then we will charge for that. 

This process works really well. It’s easy and smooth and most of all fun. You don’t need to worry about forgetting things, or not liking the final artwork. We are so thorough and we have been doing this for so long, that every single custom comic book we create is easy for every single customer. We edit until you are happy, but I have to say we have NEVER been in a position whereby we are editing and editing, over and over. 

When finished, we will find a printer local to you and all you will need to do is go and pick it up.
