Will the People and Pets Actually Look Like Themselves?

Absolutely! Creating recognisable likenesses is one of the most important parts of our work.

We don't just draw generic comic characters and give them someone's name. We carefully illustrate the actual people and pets involved in your story so friends and family can immediately recognise them.

We'll request photographs of everyone appearing in your comic strip. Our artists use these to study facial features, hairstyles, expressions, body shapes and other distinctive characteristics.

And yes, that includes pets!

Whether it's a dog, cat or another much-loved animal, we take just as much care capturing their markings, colouring, expressions and personality.

You don't need photographs of every moment you want illustrated, either.

How Many Comic Panels Do You Need?

First, let's explain what a comic panel is.

One panel is one illustrated scene or moment in your story.

For a couple's love story, three to five panels might be enough to capture the most important memories.

For example, you might include your first meeting, your first holiday, the proposal, your wedding and the present day.

If you'd like to tell a more detailed story, ten panels is a popular choice. It gives us more room to develop the narrative and include additional memories, dialogue and personal details.

And if you've been together for twenty years, you might have far more memories you'd like to include!

Fictional stories often need more panels than real-life memories because we have to introduce the characters, establish the setting, develop the problem, build the action and create a satisfying ending.

For a fictional superhero or fantasy adventure, I'd generally recommend at least ten panels.

But don't worry if you're unsure how many panels you need. That's something we can work out together.

We've created everything from short three-panel comic strips to enormous illustrated stories featuring around 100 panels.

How Much Does a Custom Comic Strip Cost?

The price of your custom comic strip depends on the number of illustrated panels and the size of the finished artwork.

Our shortest option contains three panels, and the smallest standard print size is 8 × 10 inches.

However, we can create much larger and more elaborate comic strips.

In fact, the longest custom comic strip we've created contained around 100 panels and measured approximately 48 × 72 inches!

You won't find every possible combination listed on our website because we focus on the most popular sizes and lengths.

A three-panel comic strip receives the same professional storytelling, illustration and attention to detail as a twenty-panel project.

The difference is simply the amount of artwork and storytelling involved.

How We Create Your Custom Comic Strip

Our process is designed to be easy, enjoyable and collaborative.

Many projects begin with a conversation. You tell me a little about your idea, the person receiving the gift and the story you'd like to tell.

I'll help you explore the possibilities, decide how many panels you might need and understand the cost.

Once you've placed your order, we'll email you to gather more information.

We'll ask plenty of questions about the people involved, their personalities, the events you'd like included and any particular details that matter to you. We'll also request reference photographs.

You don't need to write the story yourself.

I personally write and design every custom comic strip, developing the storyline, dialogue, panel layouts and creative direction.

Once the story is ready, one of our professional comic artists creates a rough illustrated draft.

We'll send you that draft for feedback, and you can request changes before we move on to the finished artwork.

This is the stage where you can make substantial changes to the story, scenes and composition.

Once the draft is approved, our artist completes the detailed illustrations.

You can still request smaller adjustments to colours, text and the likenesses of people, pets and places at no extra charge.

If you decide to replace an entire completed panel or substantially change the approved story, additional charges may apply.

We've been creating personalised comics for years, and our experience helps make the process straightforward for customers.

We'll guide you through every stage, so you don't need to worry about knowing how to write a comic or organise the artwork.

When everything is finished, we'll email you the high-resolution digital artwork, ready for printing.

We can also help arrange a printed copy through a printer local to you.

You can place your order directly through our website, but if you're unsure how many panels your story needs, I'd recommend chatting with us first.

Tell us a little about your idea and we'll help you work out the best number of panels and the approximate cost. You don't need to have a finished story, or even an idea! We can come up with one for you.

Once you've ordered, we'll email you with questions and request photographs of the people, pets, places and personal items you'd like included. It's a fun, easy process, and we'll guide you through everything.

Can I order a different number of panels or print size?

Absolutely! The options on our website show our most popular comic strip lengths and sizes, but we can create almost any number of panels or artwork size.

Just get in touch and tell us what you're looking for. We'll be happy to advise.

Who writes the custom comic strip story, me or you?

We do! You don't need to write a script or work out how to tell your story.

I personally develop and write the comic story, working with you to make sure it's exactly what you want. Some customers arrive with a detailed idea, while others have no idea where to start. Both are absolutely fine.

We'll brainstorm, ask lots of questions, suggest ideas and develop the story together. Even if you've already written your own story, we may suggest changes to improve how it works as a comic.

Story writing and creative direction are included in the price.

How is my custom comic strip created?

Every comic strip is professionally hand-drawn digitally by experienced comic artists. We don't use AI, automated comic generators or ready-made templates.

First, we develop and write your story. Your artist then creates a rough draft showing how the panels, characters and dialogue will work together.

We email you the draft so you can request changes before the detailed artwork begins.

Once you're happy, your artist completes the illustrations and sends them to you for another review. At this stage, adjustments are usually smaller things such as colours, dialogue and character likenesses.

Everything is created specifically for you, with exceptional attention to detail.

Will the people and pets look like they do in real life?

Yes! We work from photographs to capture detailed likenesses of people, pets, places and personal possessions.

Our artists pay close attention to facial features, hairstyles, expressions and other details that make someone recognisable. The artwork is illustrated in a professional comic-book style rather than being a photographic reproduction.

How many photos do I need to supply?

It varies depending on your story. We'll tell you exactly what photographs we need once we've discussed the comic.

These might include photographs of people, pets, locations or particular objects that feature in your story.

Don't worry if you don't have photographs of every memory or event. We can still illustrate moments from your descriptions.

What revisions are included with my custom comic strip?

We include unlimited revisions during the draft stage, so you can request changes to the story, dialogue, characters or even entire panels before the detailed artwork begins.

Once your comic strip is fully illustrated, minor adjustments such as colours, text and character likenesses are still included at no extra charge.

Substantial changes to completed artwork, such as replacing or completely redrawing a finished panel, would incur an additional fee.

We work closely with you throughout the process to make sure everything is right before moving on to the final artwork.

How long will my custom comic strip take to create?

Turnaround depends on the number of panels and our current workload.

As a guide, a three-panel comic strip usually takes around 4–6 days, while a ten-panel comic strip takes approximately 7–9 days once we've received everything needed to begin.

Longer comics naturally take more time because every illustration is created from scratch by a professional artist.

What kind of stories can be turned into a custom comic strip?

Absolutely anything!

Our most popular stories are couples' love stories, but we also create superhero adventures, fantasy stories, funny family memories, friendship stories, action adventures and completely fictional comics.

We can turn someone you love into a superhero, celebrate a special occasion or create an entirely original adventure around their personality and interests.

There really are no limits, and if you don't know what story to tell, we'll happily help you come up with one.

Is a printed copy included with my custom comic strip?

Yes! Your order includes one quality paper print of your finished comic strip, which you can collect from a local printer. We'll help arrange the printing.

You'll also receive the high-resolution digital artwork.

We recommend printing comics on good-quality paper rather than canvas. Canvas has a textured surface that can reduce the clarity of fine artwork and make smaller comic lettering harder to read.

Your comic strip will be printed at the size selected for your artwork, and you can frame it however you like.

What if I don't like my custom comic strip?

Our entire process is designed to make sure you love the finished artwork. No customer has ever left with a piece of comic art they didn't love. We're very proud of that. 

We involve you throughout the creative process, from developing the story to reviewing the rough draft and completed illustrations.

You can request unlimited revisions during the draft stage, and smaller adjustments to the finished artwork are included too. Substantial changes to completed panels may involve an additional fee.
