How Many Panels Do You Need?

Firstly let's explain what a panel is. One panel = one picture. So one moment, one interaction. For a couple’s love story, some only need three to five panels. The main events are carefully selected, which can cover one day or ten years. They might be first meeting, first “I love you”, proposal and the wedding. If you want more events included, or a more detailed story, then you might opt for ten panels. Ten panels is a really good number to tell most stories well without having to sacrifice details. But at the same time if you and your partner have been together for twenty years it can be tricky to pick out the ten main events, in which case you can opt for more panels.

If you opt for a fictional story, perhaps turning you and your partners into superheroes, then I would say ten panels is the minimum, as fictional stories require more explaining. We need to set the scene, introduce the characters, introduce the problem, every good story has a problem, build the story, and then end with a great finale. 

However long or short your custom comic strip, the final result will be incredible. We always strive to go above and beyond what’s expected, which is why we only have five star reviews. How Much Will it Cost?

The price is determined on the number of comic panels and the print size. So the shortest comic we create is 3 panels long, and the smallest size is 8”x10”. The longest custom comic strip we have ever created was about 100 panels long and measured a whopping 48”x72”. You won’t see this size offered on our website, we just show the more popular comic lengths and sizes. 

So whether your budget is relatively small or very big, we can accommodate you. A 3 panel comic strip is still just as great as a 20 panel comic strip, both are drawn to the same level of detail, both are drawn by a professional. Both will make your loved ones day.

How the Process Works

So firstly, as I have said before, most jobs start with a conversation. This is where you understand what your custom comic strip might look like and the cost. You will then purchase the custom comic strip and we will email you asking for more information. We will ask questions and request photos, the princess is pretty thorough. 

Once we have everything I will personally write and design your story. Then one of the artists on my team will draw it. First a rough draft, which I will send to you for your feedback. You can request ANY changes you like at this stage. We will apply the edits and complete the artwork. 

Once completed smaller edits such as colours, text and likeness to characters, places and pets are done at NO extra charge. But say you decide to change a panel then we will charge for that. 

This process works really well. It’s easy and smooth and most of all fun. You don’t need to worry about forgetting things, or not liking the final artwork. We are so thorough and we have been doing this for so long, that every single custom comic strip we create is easy for every single customer. We edit until you are happy, but I have to say we have NEVER been in a position whereby we are editing and editing, over and over. 

When finished, we email you high-resolution artwork ready to print locally. We will help you find a printer.
