Some villains became extremely famous, especially powerful female villains in comics like Poison Ivy or Harley Quinn.
Marvel villains who deserve a comeback
How did we decide our top 5? We looked at powers, weirder the better, but also took into account personality and storyline. it was actually quite hard to only choose 5, turns out there are been many obscure super villains from marvel.
Many of these characters appeared in some of the most popular comic books ever published.
Hammerhead
Hammerhead used to be one of marvel's big villains, but in recent years he has bene overlooked in favour of villains with more exciting powers. Hammerhead's name comes from his broad flattened head, his skull has a surgically implanted plate of Vibranium. This means his skull is super strong and he can use it to smash his opponents to pieces. His obscure power is head butting...1
Hammerhead was once a notable Spider-Man villain but has gradually faded from the spotlight.
The death-throws
The Death-Throws are a team of evil jugglers, yes it turns out when you get enough jugglers together they become evil. Their superpower? Just juggling...well excellent juggling. They were around in the mid 80's causing problems for Captain America and Hawkeye.
This strange team of criminals appeared in the 1980s and frequently clashed with heroes such as Captain America and Hawkeye. Their weapons were often thrown objects used with incredible juggling precision.
It may sound ridiculous, but the Death-Throws remain one of the strangest villain concepts Marvel ever introduced.
Tigershark
Tigershark is a mostly forgotten villain with a sad backstory. he began as an Olympic swimmer called Todd Arliss, but he became paralyzed when trying to save a drowning man. Desperate to walk again, he agreed to experimental procedures that transformed him into a powerful human–shark hybrid. With enhanced strength, speed, and underwater abilities, Tigershark became a dangerous enemy for heroes such as Namor and the Avengers.
Today many creators explore strange villains and unusual humour in modern webcomics.
Mister doll
The 1960's were a strange time for comics with plenty of weird characters, but none so weird as Mister Doll. He wore the weirdest hat and his superpower was the power of voodoo, whatever that might be, and he wore a really weird hat. He didn't really fit in with the other Marvel characters and as a result only app[eared a handful of times.
By damaging the doll, he could cause injury to the person it represented. While the concept was eerie, the character never gained much popularity and only appeared in a handful of stories.
Comics have also featured memorable animal characters in comics, from heroic pets to strange hybrid creatures.
Doctor bongo
Doctor Bong is perhaps one of the strangest villains Marvel has ever created. His head is shaped like a bell, and he literally rings it like a gong during battles.
Originally introduced as an enemy of Howard the Duck, Doctor Bong combines absurdity with genuine menace. His bizarre appearance and strange abilities have made him a cult favourite among comic fans.
Doctor Bongo, such a silly idea for a villain, not sure where Marvel were going with this one. Not only does he have a silly name he also has a silly shaped head - just like our other weird villain, hammerhead. His head is bell shaped, and his power? Well he is going to ring his own head of course....we haven't seen him in Marvel comics for a while, surprise surprise!
